YotaPhone – това е първият Android OS смартфон с два екрана, единия от които винаги е включен. Казано по друг начин, това е първият опит да се комбинират стандартен смартфон и електронен четец в едно устройство, което е значително по-малко от стандартните четци, които сте виждали. Дали руската компания успя да го направи? Определено успя, но дали този телефон ще и донесе успех вече е друга тема. Първо, YotaPhone е телефон, който не се намира много лесно и го няма навсякъде. Още при представянето на прототипа през 2012, YotaPhone предизвика голям интерес в мен. Малко по-късно компанията го обяви официално, а наскоро станахме свидетели и на второто поколение. Разликата между YotaPhone и YotaPhone 2 е доста голяма, като започнем от дизайн, визия, характеристики и т.н. Като за първи телефон обаче, YotaPhone ни показа нещо много интересно, което може и да има бъдеще, стига и другите да го видят.

В общи линии, от гледна точка на характеристики и цена, това си е телефон от среден клас. С 4.3-инчов 720×1280 IPS LCD дисплей, който за мен предлага добри цветове и ъгли на видимост, както и 1.7 GHz двуядрен Snapdragon 400 процесор, той определено не е най-мощният телефон, а цената му в eMAG е около 670лв, което не е чак толкова скъпо.  По-важното обаче е не толкова процесорът, колкото това, че на гърба имаме 4.3-иначове E-Ink дисплей с резолюция от 640 x 360 и пикселна гъстота от 170 ppi. Това е и причината YotaPhone да е различен от всичко, което сме виждали досега.

Основно цел на втория дисплей е за пестене на енергия. В крайна сметка, той може да се ползва дори когато батерията е изтощена. Било то за четене на книги или нещо друго, бележки, напомняния, навигация с вграденото приложение за карти, facebook нотификации, времето или просто за wallpaper, вторият дисплей има своето предназначение. По-важният въпрос е дали има практическа полза от това и дали си заслужава? За същата сума вече може да си купите телефон, който предлага много повече мощ, тъй че сега е моментът да видим и реалната полза.

Е, ако четете много вероятно такава има. Макар E-Ink дисплеят да има ниска резолюция, това не е чак толкова важно и не дразни, защото все пак на него ще гледате всичко в черно-бяло. В допълнение и самата технология е базирана на това, когато четете да не се изморяват очите ви. Ако изключим всичко това обаче, ползата е вторият дисплей не е особено голяма или поне за мен нямаше такава. Лично аз дори и не чета на такъв тип устройства и ми е малко странно, но и да го направя, големината на YotaPhone не е най-подходящата за тези неща. Може би ще го ползвам за бележки, които лесно да ги виждам, но да седна да чета едва ли. Не казвам, че е лошо, защото някои хора го правят, но аз просто не съм един от тях.

Има и още нещо, което е леко объркващо в този телефон и това е начинът за навигиране по менютата на двата дисплея. Както виждате, тук няма стандартните капацитивни или софтуерни бутони, макар YotaPhone да работи с почти чист Android. Вместо това се работи с приплъзване наляво или надясно, което съответно играе ролята на Home или Back. Наистина е малко странно в началото и дори след седмица ползване пак не му свикнах.

Иначе останалите неща са си същите. Приложения, менюта и каквото знаем от останалите телефони го има и тук. Имайте предвид, чеYotaPhone не е от най-бързите телефони и тестовете го показаха. Да не казвам, че на AnTuTu дори не успя да изкара докрай, а само се рестартираше. Тези движения за работа по менюто също не всеки път бяха отчитани правилно и трябваше да повтарям по няколко пъти. И все пак, като за първи телефон от този тип мисля, че руската компания се е справила добре. Не може да очаквате от този апарат чудеса, нито супер дизайн или топ характеристики, но е крачка напред в бъдещето. Показва ни на какво е способна технологията и ни отваря очите за нещо различно, практично и интересно.

Лошото е, че за мен голяма полза все още няма. Не и докато компанията и разработчиците не започнат да използват хартиения дисплей повече. Може би да го направят по-голям, така че да заема цялата повърхност. Също така няма да е лошо и повече приложения да са съвместими с него. Дори в момента с E-Ink дисплея основно може да четете и нищо повече. Той не е адаптиран да изпълнява повече задачи и дори нотификациите от Facebook не се рефрешват само, а трябва да отключвате основния екран. Въобще, има какво да се пипне и добави и нямам търпение да видя, какво ново ще измислят руснаците.

А YotaPhone 2 е именно този ъпгрейд, който се надявам до елиминира повече недостатъци на първата версия, но и тук задния E-Ink дисплей заема част от повърхността. Ясно е, че хардуерът трябва да се набута някъде и това може би е основната причина, но каквото и да е – този телефон все още няма да замести електронния четец по начина, който си мислим.
